This is Why Kate Middleton Likes to Wear Hairnets

When you think of Kate Middleton, you think of perfect hair. She rarely has a single strand out of place and never has her hair styled looking anything less than impossibly bouncy. But it's because she has a trick up her sleeve, or rather, a trick on her bun: a hairnet. The inexpensive hair accessory is actually the ideal tool to keep a neat royal bun looking, well, neat and royal.

The internet was abuzz this morning when it was discovered that Middleton wore a hairnet at the June 10 Buckingham Palace flypast to mark the 100th birthday celebrations of the Royal Air Force. Only when you use CSI-level zoom can you spot the net—and that's exactly the intention.

A hairnet can keep a low updo in place for several days since it doesn't allow the hair to droop or unravel. This isn't the first time Middleton has won one: she was spotted back in October 2016 wearing a barely detectable net over a neat chignon.

It's entirely possible that Middleton kept the same hairstyle she wore to her son Louis's Christening on Monday to the event on Tuesday. As a busy mother and royal, she probably doesn't have time to sit with a glam squad for hours each day. A hairnet comes in handy since it allows her to keep an updo in place overnight and throughout a busy day.

You can shop packs of hairnets on Amazon for less than $7 on Amazon, if you too want to steal a beauty secret from the royals.
