Late Fox News head Roger Ailes' New Jersey mansion has been sold for $1.65 million only weeks after his passing, but his family, who had been desperately trying to sell off the property for months, will take a $200,000 loss on the sale.

Ailes purchased the four-bedroom, six-bathroom, 3,502 square-foot mansion located in Cresskill, New Jersey back in 2000 for $1.85 million.

He had originally listed the property on March 9 for a $2.25 million, but then slashed to price to $1,995,000, weeks later. 

Most recently, the former CEO of Fox News cut another $345,000 from the asking price on May 3.

In April, DailyMail.com reported that the ex-CEO's rush to pass on his home may have had something to do with the slew of summonses he received at the address, notifying him that he was being sued by former Fox News contributor Julie Roginsky for sexual harassment. 

Ailes passed away two weeks after cutting the price on May 18, before he could find a buyer for his property.

The real estate listing for the ranch-style home focuses on potential buyers seeking privacy stating, 'Magnificent landscaping allows for privacy and discretion with an abundance of plantings, with many varieties of shrubs and flowers' and a swimming pool also surrounded by a variety of plants for privacy and many other amenities.

The property also has an expansive backyard, an elegant foyer, a state-of-the-art kitchen and a glass-enclosed sunroom. 

Although, Ailes had been trying to downsize in New Jersey, he made the opposite move in Florida last year.

The house was completed in late 2015 and boasts an interior designed by the Florida-based Marc-Michaels Interior Design.

It would be where Ailes would spend his final days before his death. The 77-year-old died eight days after falling and hitting his head at his Florida mansion.
