System76's Lemur Pro Linux Laptop Gets Intel Core Ultra Chips

System76 is one of a handful of companies selling desktop and laptop computers built specifically for Linux. The company makes a diverse range hardware, from ultrabook-like laptops to powerful workstation laptops to tower PCs. Now, System76 is revamping a couple of laptops in its lineup, giving it improvements such as the addition of Intel Core Ultra chips.
System76 has just launched a few upgrades to its ultraportable laptop range. The most notable of them is the Lemur Pro, which now features Intel Core Ultra processors. The Lemur Pro supports either the Intel Core Ultra 5 125U or the Intel Core Ultra 7 155U CPUs, up to 56GB RAM, and 8TB storage.
There are some external upgrades to go along with internal hardware changes, too. The Lemur Pro offers a vibrant display with upgraded screen real estate, aiding multitasking and productivity by adopting a 16:10 aspect ratio for improved vertical space. The laptop features a lightweight, durable magnesium alloy construction. The Lemur Pro weighs a mere 2.2 lbs, offering portability without compromising on size. And despite the tiny footprint, we have upgraded battery life as well, with up to 14 hours of juice to keep things going.
System76 has also teased the new high-performance Darter Pro, featuring Intel Core Ultra H-class processing and Arc graphics. The previous model with 13th gen Intel hardware came in at 14.06 × 8.68 × 0.78 inches (35.7 × 22.05 × 1.99 cm) and weighed 3.84 pounds (1.74kg), so we expect the new machine to have a similar or identical physical design.
The Lemur Pro is now available for purchase from System76's website, and it's probably among the thinner laptop options out there if you're looking for something that specifically runs Linux. Make sure to check it out. It's not known when the Darter Pro will be launched, but we'll certainly need to keep an eye out for it, because it's also looking pretty good.
